Cornerstone of the Austin-Boston connection, Sore Losers traces its Boston roots back to the early 90's when Chris played guitar in Razorwire, while Mike handled the vocal duties.  Although under-rated and under-attended at the time, the various Boston lineups of Razorwire that included aces like Bill Close on guitar (The Freeze, etc.), Dave Pratt on bass (Out Cold, Bad Lieutenants), Jim Maxine on drums (All Systems Stop, Bad Lieutenants), and Scott Montropolis on guitar (Cortez) turned out killer tracks (see the "Man the Guns" 7-inch released by Rodent Popsicle and the great "Banned in Boston" compilation) that hold a place in the history of Boston punk rock.

Chris moved to Austin in the late 90s and played in the Pink Swords.  Mike followed in 2001 and reformed an Austin version of Razorwire that still plays.

The Sore Losers' music reflects a variety of influences from stoner rock and Scan-rock to Oi! and hardcore.  In the end it's just wild-ass street rock 'n roll, complemented by the brutal swingin' Texas groove of the local-bred rhythm section of Juan on drums and Brian on bass.  The subject matter tends to range from drinking to, well . . . more drinking.  But don't let the blunt implement fool you: there's plenty going on here, and the lyrics and guitars kick out some diamonds from the rough of the on-going mid-tempo beatdowns.

If you live in Texas, go see em at a dive near you.  For the rest of the world, there's an EP due out shortly on Teenage Heart Records!
